A special thanks to our friend Amy Manuel for standing up for Voting Centers in Denton County back on September 1st 🗳️ She too ran for Denton County Clerk back in the day as well - this is a very serious issue when it comes to the Commissioners Court. Now to be fair, the Clerk doesn't have the same power that Commissioners and Judge has, but the Clerk does have the responsibility to make sure the people of Denton County knows what our Commissioners Court is up to, and what policies they are pressing onto the County. And as it stands now, we are switching up the rules on the last day to vote - which is confusing and stands as one more barrier between a voter and their ballot box.Read More

If y'all wish to win your races, you'd best talk about the policies rather than say one party is good and the other is bad. McKinney City Council was bombarded last Tuesday with racist and hateful rhetoric. So many people who call themselves "Christians" and yet aim to treat others with hate, division, and disrespect. It is shocking to me how many people are fine with government deciding what is a religion and what is not. You may not be able to hear it very well in the video, but I got boo'ed so stating some simple facts: 👉 Our County was founded by deists who believe in freedom of religion. 👉 Separation of Church and State is outlined in the 1st sentence of the first Amendment - which is before freedom of speech. 👉 City Council can't vote no for the approval - that would result in a lawsuit, further increasing our property taxes in an already diminished economy under this administration.Read More

Tell me, who continues to support the 287(g) program in Denton County when incidents like this occur? ICE is no longer targeting only undocumented individuals — their actions now impact a much broader community. If someone appears Hispanic or is deemed “suspicious” for any reason, they risk being targeted. By implementing 287(g), Denton County effectively deputizes local law enforcement to act as ICE agents. Consider the consequences: does this not erode the trust between law enforcement and the residents of Denton County? Can anyone genuinely argue that 287(g) makes our community feel safer? We must raise these concerns with our Denton County Commissioners. And if they refuse to listen, then it is our responsibility to challenge them — to run for office, to advocate for change, and to work toward flipping the Commissioners Court blue in the 2026 election.Read More

It was good to speak to our fellow Denton County Commissioners back in April. 💪 There are a great many things we need to focus on in our County. We need to support Meals On Wheels, we need to allocate our Opioid Settlement Fund, but most of all, we need Voting Centers. Right now we can vote anywhere in the County during Early Voting. But on the last day to vote, on the "Election Day", we cannot. 😤 This leads to confusion, and voters being redirected to other locations on Election Day. And in a lot of cases, causes voters to loose their ability to vote (when get get fatigued or cannot make it in time to the correct location). This. Is. Voter. Suppression. The "American Dream" used to be a belief where you could own a house with a roof over your head for a decent price. This is hard to come by for the modern day Texan. The reason housing prices are so high is due of two reasons - 1) The massive population increase in Texas 2) and more importantly, due to giant powerful corporations who buy several homes only to rent them out. As these corporations do this, they take houses off the market for the common person. My solution to this is to advocate for financially penalizing any entity (cooperation) that owns any more than 10 suburban family-homes within Texas. A legislative measure like this will not effect anyone except for these corperations that intend to abuse our market.Read More

With the State of Texas having a massive surplus, supplying additional funding to our schools and our public school teachers must be our very first step. I would be open to tapping into the Rainy-Day fund if we must, as every day is a rainy day for our Public Schools in Texas right now. In addition to this, I believe we must restore our DEI programs which have recently slashed by the legislator in the past session.
