Thank you for that introduction. My fellow Toast Masters, today I'm here to talk to you about someone or someone who has given some positive influence on my life. But before I go into that, I need to go into the opposite. I need to talk about the biggest bully I know, both to myself and my home community in Connecticut.
A long time ago, I wasn't there, I was in college at the time, but in my home state, we had a terrible massacre, something we called the Sandy Hook Massacre, where children were not only shot dead, but they were so mutilated that pieces of faces were on the ground. As our community mourned, a guy by the name of Wolfgang Halbig was a reporter who was coming around and
asking questions, but not just asking questions pointedly, making accusations while seemingly to ask questions for some media network we never heard of, something called InfoWars from some far away place called Texas. To us in Connecticut, Texas is a very, very far away place. Through time, I eventually began to understand who Alex Jones in InfoWars was.
And I tell you, Alex is a monster. Alex is the type of guy who will show up at people's houses with a bullhorn. His staff will show up to your houses. There's multiple videos of them doing this. He showed up to the January 6th Capitol on J6, and on the first No King's Day, Vance Luther Bolter killed Minnesota former House Speaker Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, and
her husband Mark Hortman in their home in Brooklyn, Minnesota. And his neighbor did confirm that this was this guy, this assassin did listen to InfoWars. And the day before this, Alex Jones was going off in a whole tirade about how we're in an active civil war right now, to a point where if you were listened to it and you actually believed in Alex, then the only option you don't think it would have
left is to start shooting. Alex is a monster, and for a long time I feared this man. But there is an unlikely entity which actually changed the way that I look at Alex. Rather than something to be feared or angered, rather to just to look at with pity and just something as if he's not really something to be taken seriously.
Of all things, it's actually a podcast. It's a podcast called Knowledge Fight. And here's the way it works it's two guys. One guy who does a deep dive in fact checking, and another guy who's a comedian. So what they do, their formula, is to bring up clips of Alex. Alex will typically what he'll do is he'll skim over
headlines. He'll have stacks of papers on his desk. He'll go through headlines and things like that one at a time real fast. And then the podcast will pause and say, hey, let's pull up this article and actually read through and just see just how wrong Alex got this article. And he as he does this, the comedian will jump
in and it will add like a light flavor to it. It's the type of thing where when you see something so disgusting that comes from Alex Jones, something that's so disgusting is the outrageous accusations that Infowars makes, the podcast pauses it, fact checks it, and then the comedian jumps in and it turns it into a funny type of thing.
It's as if sometimes you notice how the Daily Show or some of these late-night comedy individuals, they'll cover not deep dark stuff like Alex Jones, but they'll cover general news stuff and they'll turn it into a little bit of comedy. These guys are able to do that, but to the extent of Alex Jones at Infowars. It was something that, for one, took a massive monster
that myself and a lot of my homestead community never saw, and turns this into a thing where we just find Alex to be downright pathetic. Because we actually keep track of just how wrong Alex Jones is. We actually keep tallies on that. They make fun of Alex by showing us how many times he believes that nuclear war is going to happen
the very next week. They show how many times he reuses ridiculous claims such as race specific bio weapons. And he also goes into the formula on how Alex Jones works Alex Jones claims that he's the tip of the spear, one who's about to figure out what the globalists are about to do next.
And so therefore, if he makes a prediction about something that globalists are going to do next, if said prediction does not come true, he puts himself in a situation and can say, hey, the reason that didn't happen is because I called the globalists out. So he can make predictions, and even if they don't come true, he's put himself in a position where he's always right.
And he uses his hashtag Alex is always right all the time because of the way he formulates things. It's been a really interesting thing too, because I've learned a lot about Texas history, things I never would have known, such as the John Birch Society. I'm not sure if you're familiar with that, but essentially a long time ago, there were these people who coined the term globalist, and they would use this to fling
it at anyone who they believed political opposition to be, but mainly to be unions and things like that. It was interesting to see how the father of the Koch brothers was in the so-called John Burch society and things like that. And apparently so was Alex's father. I also learned a lot about how the right uses language.
Because Alex Jones invites Nick Fuentes on his show a lot. And this is something that we see. We realize that the word globalist or new world order can mean different things to different people. To people like Alex, it means the John Burch Society. To people like Nick Fluentes, it means the Jews. But when Nick Fluentes first came on to Alex Jones'
show, Alex would get very nervous because Nick Fluentes would freely use the word Jew all the time until he finally started using the buzzwords. became uh they They became uh more collaborative together. It's really interesting to learn all these things, but most importantly, the way that these podcasters of all people, this unlikely podcast, became an influence on a positive influence on my life is because they took someone who I hated
the most, someone who just would make me grind my teeth, and make me see just see how truly pathetic he is as a man rather than a monster. It is impressive to see how just ad hoc Alex can be with his lies, but it's even more impressive to see the lies get called out, and also the way to turn it into comedy and to make it fun and knowledge flight is a podcast that I look
forward to every episode of. So, with that said, I thank those two Chicago boys for uh stepping up and going against one of the largest uh con artists that we have in our country. Thank you for your time.
