I'm happy to first. Listen, I just think that um the reality is that the free markets solve problems better than government does. Oh, why is that? And I'm not saying that we need to totally do away with public schools, I think that would be coolish. We have a constitutional obligation to educate our children. Okay, so what you're doing right there is you didn't
say why you believe that the free market should take priority. Uh, but he knows the next thing that's gonna come up. Obviously, the Democrats are gonna say, hey, look, you're about to defund our public education system entirely because it's already defunded. What he's doing right now is trying to protect himself
from that next move. I think there's lots of ways we can do that a lot better, and I'm for a lot of those. Pay teachers more, maybe have a few fewer administrators. But the competition of the Okay, so he's saying have more school teachers and less administrators. Again, he's trying to rehearse the concept of the defense saying, oh well, I don't want to completely do away
with public schools. The problem is this though. The school of voucher scam he's pushing for the funds our public schools in its entirety, and they're already underfunded as it is. We can't get more teachers. We can't we've lost 40% of our school staff in the past two years due to underfunding.
So it's completely nonsensical to think, oh, we can uh do do better with our public schools as we have it right now. No, they're underfunded. That's that's the whole problem right now with our public education system. But anyways, let's uh let let's let's move on. But the competition of a free market system will help
push that all in the right direction. No, well, will he explain why? And so I think by giving if you're paying taxes, you're and your kids are going to school, you're essentially paying for that school and you should demand better schools. Two points there. Um it's not as if you have kids in school, you pay taxes.
We all pay taxes to it. Right now, I don't have uh a children. Uh I have no children, but I pay money into our public local public schools. It's because we as a community and invest in our future. And our children are the future of this country. Which is why if you don't even have children, you
still still pay taxes into your local public schools. That's that's how it's always worked. That is that is how it has always worked since the dawn of time here. in the United States of America Now, to say that we should demand better of our public schools, you can do that, but only for our public schools, because in our public schools, the school boards
are elected officials. So you can take charge of the situation and make sure that you have the best ISD uh board members that you could possibly get by participating in elections. You can't do that with a private school. You can only do that with a public school. So his program, there's lots of different uh ways out there that um school choice programs are being talked about,
and the legislature will come up with you know what they think is the best uh version of that. Um, no, let me stop it right there. There's only been one type of voucher program being offered. It's one that sacrifices public education funding. If they were serious about seriously wanting to protect our public schools and implement a voucher program in Texas, here in Texas, the eighth largest economy in the world, we
would use our massive surplus, which we do have. We got money in the bank to pay for our public roads, our infrastructure, our schools, or even a school voucher program if you wanted to use the surplus, but they're not doing that. There's only one type of voucher scam offered, just one, and it specifically takes money away from the public schools. That is by design, and that's the only type of
voucher program being offered in the legislature. I can't consider and say that there's one version better than another, but uh that'll be on the board of the Texas House. But my opinion is generally speaking, is that when you have a free market system, that innovation drives a better end product, and that's going to benefit your kids. Okay, and again, but is it he doesn't say why?
He's not saying why is it that the capitalistic structure would work better than this socialist-based structure, which is what it is. So we've got public roads, that's a form of socialism. We have public schooling, it's a form of socialism. The reason we do that, the reason we have public utilities is because for those certain parents out there who have uh you know kids with special needs, they're going
to be able to get the attention they need to a public education system. The private school system completely will throw away kids like that away because all these private schools they don't have to accept your kids in if they don't want to. There's an entry exam for all of them. If you have a kid with special needs, you're completely shafted.
So the reality is that it public schools is a public utility that is offered to our communities, paid for by the public as a public way for you to use and to utilize, and again, that you can elect your elected school board officials too. This guy right here, he's just blatantly stating that he thinks the free market will magically make everything better, but he's not telling you why.
He's just trying to scam you, folks. He's just trying to scam you, he's trying to take away your public schools, a school voucher program, and Texas will be the final nail on the coffin for our public education if it passes.
