Well, apparently Republicans want big massive government now, as my state house rep filed to dissolve the city of Austin. And by dissolve, I mean basically taking power away from the city council and the mayor's position and giving it all to the Speaker of the House. And why would Peterson want to do this? Well, he says it's because of high taxes and high crimes in Austin.

A common headline you see all the time on Fox News, claiming that every single liberal city always has more crime rate than anywhere else. This is just another blatant power grab. A power grab by a guy who lives in Frisco, which is four hours away from Austin. Frisco Boy is so desperate to do this that he even wants to amend the Texas Constitution to allow this

to happen. I really want this to sink into your heads real quick because this guy right here who lives in Frisco, four hours away from Austin, wants to completely dissolve the power of the mayor and the city council and give it all to the Speaker of the House. If we allow this to happen to Austin, Texas, who's next?

Is it gonna be Houston? Is it gonna be the rest of the state? Who else? This legislation is gonna trigger a domino effect that will affect multiple other cities throughout the state and give all the power to this guy right here, the Speaker of the House, who let me just show you his quality of work here.

Mr. Campbell, the send that amendment amendment is assembled with the author. Is there objection to the opposite amendment? The chair has done the members adopted. Recognize Mr. Mr. Johnson of Harris.

Mr. Johnson of Harris to speak in opposition to the bill. And I want you to think about this the next time you're in the voting with because Republicans are relentless. They want to destroy local government. That is what they're all about. We have to vote them out, folks. We have to vote them out.
