If there is a school that allows boys into the girls' restroom or boys into the locker room or the showers. Where's that happening in Texas? Where in the deep red state of Texas is that happening? That's not happening anywhere in Texas. And I don't agree with that policy.
Should I not be given the opportunity for an education savings account to send my child to a different school? Yes, that is absolutely correct. If you have a disagreement with a policy, you can take that up with your ISD. You can take that up with your school. You can bring it up in a PTA teacher meeting. You could bring it up with the teachers.
That's the great thing about public schools is that it is a democracy where the people are in control. So, no, choosing a voucher system that will completely defund it and destroy the entire public education system throughout the entirety of the state of Texas is not the way to go about this. If you have a disagreement on a particular policy. Is it your opinion that a sexual assault survivor on
the campus of a public school, that that girl's siblings have to remain in that school and attend that school where the sexual assault happened because the parents don't have a choice to take their child somewhere else. Is that your opinion? No, that's not the case. You can send your kids to private school right now. You already have school choice.
You have the choice to send your kid to a private school. You just you just pay for it. That's just a thing. No one's forcing your kids to go to public school, man. No one's forcing that. And if a horrible action like said thing took place,
if a rape was to happen, that's something that again should be taken up with that school, with that school board ISD in the next PTA meeting. We should not be defunding every single public school throughout all of Texas because of an incident that happens at one particular place.
