A lot of people ask me my stance on pro-life pro choice. And look, of course I support a woman's right over her own body. It would be pretty weird for me to run as a Democrat if I didn't. But I refuse to lie to you. I refuse to say that somehow, if you're gonna vote
for me, the magically I'm gonna give you all of your rights back over your own body. Um look, I want to be realistic with you as much as you don't want to hear it, but right now in Texas we don't got the votes for that. And if anything, we just need to be very careful with our messaging because Republicans have a great messaging system where if they ask you how many weeks in do
you uh support uh an abortion, then no matter what number you say, they're gonna call you a baby killer. What I want to do is I want to hit the political stage. I want to be in a debate, and what I wanted to say is, hey, look, this is Texas. Roe v. Wade is dead, and if a little girl is raped,
if a pedophile rapes a little girl and impregnates her, this state, this government state will force that little girl to carry that pregnancy to term. There's no exceptions for incest, no exceptions for rape, no exceptions for child incest, no exceptions for child rape. As the Democratic Party, this is what we have to run on right now at this current time. At this current time, because we're not going to be
able to advocate for women's rights over their own bodies until we flip more seats blue. Because Republicans just dominate both the state house and the Senate. Alright, so I I know that you want to hear more from me, but if I was to be more animate about this, if I was to be more progressive, it will just fuel the fire for the Republican side
of the aisle. Say that Dilfrey's a baby killer and it will get more votes on their side. I want to focus on the concept where there's no exception for rape. Because every time I bring this up with family members of mine who are Republicans, they get uncomfortable. And you know what?
That's a good thing. I want to force that discomfort in. I want to be on a political debate stage, and I want to bring this up every single time. The fact that we have OBGYNs fleeing the state of Texas because they're afraid of what the laws might do to them. OBGYNs, by the way, we're losing them in droves, and
this affects women who are simply trying to have their uh their their pregnancy. This is insane. We have women who are having to wait until they get into sepsis before they get abortion care. The radical right has gone off the extreme spectrum with this. And we in the Democratic side of the aisle, rather
than saying what we want, we need to highlight the insane and crazy right-wing nutcases out there, like the ones who want to literally ban in vitro fertilization. We need to highlight that. We need to make them feel uncomfortable because that's the only way we're going to flip more seats blue, and only then can we finally get women's uh women's rights over over their own bodies back.
