As other states are banning , is trying to ban ALL for everyone under 18

Well, my horrible State House representative is at it again. A Texas lawmaker is pushing to ban social media for anyone under the age of 18. And no, I'm not exaggerating. This is HB 896 in this current session right now. Everyone under the age of 18 from all social media outlets. Let's put that into perspective real quick.

A 17-year-old, a 16-year-old can drive their car 60 miles an hour down the highway, but they're not allowed to have basic freedom of speech on social media. And when confronted by this, this is what he had to say. And what do you say to parents who feel like it's their job to decide what their kids can do and cannot do and and not the government?

Again, I would say that this isn't new. You know, we would say that every American has uh Second Amendment rights, but we don't allow eight-year-olds to go in and buy handguns. It's kind of disgusting to basically say that this is here to protect children. I mean, these teenagers, these 16-year-olds, 17-year-olds, they're used to having this platform for communication, and we're about to take

their voices away. We're about to take away their freedom of speech. If someone out there who's 16, 17 year old, 14 year old is seeking mental help because let's say they're suicidal, how are they supposed to communicate now that now that we've silenced their voices? So come next election cycle. I want you guys to remember this.

This is his actions. This is how Jared Patterson works, okay? When it comes to your parents' choice, you don't have any choice. He doesn't want you to be able to choose whether or not your kid can go on social media or not. He wants to make that choice for you.

This is not parental choice at all because you don't get to choose.
