During of all times, a bill has just been signed by Gov Abbot

During #PrideMonth of all times, a #BookBan bill has just been signed by Gov Abbot. This will hurt #lgbt and #Pride materials, as legislation written in this manor has always been used to target the #lgbtcommunity under the guise of "protecting children" @dentondemocrats @friscodemocrats @ntxdems

Unfortunately the time's come where Governor Abbott has just signed HB 900, a bill by Jared Patterson, which is a book banning bill. Again, I'm not exaggerating. I want to remind everyone that this conversation happened between Patterson and a former school teacher. Is sex with a prostitute patently offensive to you? Y yes.

Yes. It is. Okay. So if if sex with a prostitute is sexual conduct and patently offensive under your bill, lonesome dove by Larry McMurch would be banned in school libraries across Texas. I'm just saying if we're doing this so broadly to where you're sweeping in lonesome dove, then we need to

tighten up the language. Well, and and I don't care if it's lonesome dove or any other novel. Bill, it's up to us to tighten the bill to make sure that when vendors are looking, they don't ban lonesome dove because that's crazy. They might need to ban lonesome dove, though. That's my point.

I mean, I I think that's helpful to hear from you that that that would be the intended that would be the consequence. If if it's sexually explicit, if it is, then it should not be. Yeah, because I'm the one that wrote the bill.
