You guys hear me okay right now? Oh yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah. It's been uh pretty exciting past couple weeks. That's uh been a lot going on. But uh anyways, uh my name is Sale Frey, and I'm running to be an ex Texas State Senator for District 30.
District 30 is a big, massive area. It stretches from here all the way up to the North Texas border, out to Wichita Falls, and almost down to Fort Worth. But the good news for you guys is that if you live anywhere in Frisco, it doesn't matter if it's in Denton County or Collin County, if you live anywhere in Frisco, I'm gonna be on your ballot this coming
November. So uh for those of you who don't know me, I'll go ahead and introduce myself just real quick. My name is Dale Frey, and uh, you know, my wife and I came back down here to Texas to be with her father when he got stage three cancer, which is one of the many reasons I'm running for office because I'm very sensitive about our broken healthcare system.
Uh one of the first warning signs I got when I came back down to here to Texas was meeting a friend of mine, a woman named Kennet, who owns her own LLC, who is a health care provider herself, particularly for assisted living. And she's ranting to me over a cup of coffee, telling me how she has to drop her Medicaid recipients because she tells me the money's just not there anymore.
She says the uh Medicaid rates have not been adjusted since long before the pandemic and inflation is kill her, killing her in the sector, and she has to drop these people, which she does not want to do. She's going through a lumba, but she has to, right? And it's so frustrating because we're not part of the Medicaid expansion program down here in Texas, one of the few states that's not.
We pay into this program through our federal taxes, and so therefore we're paying for medical programs in California. We Texans are paying for medical programs in New Jersey, but not back here in Texas. All the meanwhile, Kinets having to drop her Medicaid recipients. All the meanwhile, we have people who are poor but not poor enough to qualify for Medicaid. And if we were part of this program, it would
increase the threshold in which you would have to be at in order to qualify for this program. This affects people's lives. It affects people like my father-in-law, especially him, because you know he's a retired public school teacher, and I was shocked to find out how little amount of money he made in retirement as a public school teacher. I was shocked to find out how little amount of
money our public school teachers make uh before they retire. One of our board members here, she was telling me how much she made how much money she made before she retired And I said, My God, Becky, that's the same amount of money I made in my first job at a college. Our teachers are not being supported, our ISDs are not
being supported. Our independent school districts used to get more direct funding from our legislature a decade ago, but in the past decade, they've refactored that right now is more dependent upon your property taxes, which is a lopsided way of funding our ISDs. It clearly does not work. And if anything at all, our ISDs are under attack
because right now our governor is pushing for a Medicaid screen, I'm sorry, pushing for a school voucher scam. And if that thing passes, it will be the final nail in the coffin for our ISDs. And I hate to tell you guys, but I mean it's it's intentional. It's all part of a scam driven by two Texas billionaires called Tim Dunn and Ferris Wills.
If you look them up, you'll find all a whole bunch of horrible things that they're pushing for. And they really are the puppet master to a lot of these politicians, unfortunately. But I don't have enough time to go into that right now. I just basically say that we need to support our public schools.
We need to support our public schools, our public school teachers. Our youngsters are the future of Texas and the future of this country. So if we don't support them, we're not supporting our own future. As some of you may know, so far the state house has been the thing pushing back against the school
voucher scam. In the past session, they've been blocking it. Governor Abbott has been trying to get more people employed in the House. I'm sorry, elected to the House that will be on his side for the school voucher scam. But so far, they're the only ones pushing against it. And the state Senate is the one that's been initiating
this program. And so we need Texas State Senators to be on our side to say no to the school voucher program. And I'm want.ing to be your next Texas State Senator for Senate District Service So it really means the world to me if you do a couple of things because I really need your help with this guys.
I can't do this alone. I need you to one vote, and I mean vote all the way down the ballot. I need you to contact your friends and the people that you know, because friends don't let friends not vote. This is not this is not a red state. It's not, people think it is, but it's not. This is a non-voting state.
That's what's happened right now. We're letting them win by not showing up. We're letting them win by getting discouraged. We're letting them win by not telling our neighbors. As Ramona was talking about, we gotta come to talk to our neighbors, talk to our friends, and make sure that they understand that it's really worth spending the time to get out there.
You've got to do this for the sake of our future, guys. Again, my name is Dale Frey. You can learn about me from Frayfortexas.com. This F R E Live for Texas.com. If you come over here and find uh a literature up here, we can learn more about me from there as well with the QR code.
Um thank you for your time. All right, yeah.
