Alright, you got what is your position on school voucher? Oh, okay. Well, this might come as a surprise to you. All right, well, let me talk about this real quick. I understand when someone says school choice or says, hey, don't you want to be able to send your kid to the school of your choosing? Uh I understand how that's attractive.
And look, if you wanted to have an additional program such as school choice, this legislature should fund that through the big massive surplus that we do very much have here in Texas. We're the eighth largest economy in the world. We can pay to fix our roads, we can pay for infrastructure, we can even pay for a school choice program if you really wanted to.
But that's not the way this is built. This is specifically built to sacrifice money from our public education system. In plain LISD, for example, we've just lost, I think, was it three or four of our public schools? Yeah, in Plano. Um they're shutting down, and I've seen this movie before. I think I know what's gonna happen next.
Plain OIST is gonna sell those buildings because they need money. Some fat cat rich billionaire is gonna purchase those buildings, they're gonna turn them into charter schools, and then they're gonna want the voucher program, right? What you're seeing right now is a privatization of our public education system, and we need to stand against this. All right, if if you have a problem, or you
if you think you have a problem with something that's being taught in the public schools, I've got good news for you. Your public uh your ISD board are elected officials, you can go to your PTA meetings, you can meet your teachers, you can elect your uh school board members, all right. But but trying to implement a voucher program that would
completely end all public uh public education to all Texas is not the way. So I stand strong uh harshly against the school voucher program in its entirety. Thank you. So your next question: what do you think about school voucher?
