Frey for TexasIt was good to speak to our Little Elm City Council Leaders. 🙂 We are advocating for our Public Schools wherever we can 💪 We know that City Council has no legislative power over the WADA/Basic-Allotment, but a simple Proclamation or Public Statement can go a long way - especially when it's not just from all of us constituents, but from City Council Members as well. 💙

And address, please. Hi, I'm Chris Waddell, resident of Lil, and I'm at 12513 Coral Drive. Okay. And I do have some handouts for the council that I just want to pass on real quick. Okay, so I'm I'm here tonight regarding our public schools. So our public schools are under attack, are under
attack, excuse me. And we um I'm sure most of us, all of us know that uh not fully funding our public schools is just bad, it's terrible, um, is bad for our communities. So the results of not having our public schools funded, um, you know, declining property values, um potentially high crime rates, uh weak economic growth, and then above
all, our kids are poorly educated. Now there's um a solution to that, or to to avoid those uh circumstances. Um is to increase the basic allotment by sixteen hundred dollars for a total of 7760 per student and tie to inflation. Secondly, fund schools based on allotment, not attendance, to ensure full funding.
Third, deposit all recapture funds into the state education fund rather than a general fund. And then uh lastly, um reject school voucher programs that divert funding away from public education. Um I'm gonna turn over to Dale. He could give you a little bit more of statistics and on on why um our public schools need the adequate funding.

My name's Dale Freddy, I live at six year old one seven Cypress Coeok Drive, but I'm gonna come today to basically cut kind of, I would go, I have way too much information if it had been one minute. But our our neighbors are suffering really bad right now
in a major, major deficit for their ISDs And with uh unfunded uh money coming to our ISDs from the legislature, I fear that little Elm ISD may uh see the same thing as well. Uh people do not move here for a voucher program, and I really worry about uh what will happen to our schools if they continue to get underfunded. Uh I know this is not an ISD, I know
this is a city council, but please understand that these this does affect our community, and uh we would really hope if you were willing to to try to make a statement or put something on social media and say, hey, look, our schools are underfunded, this affects all of our communities. As city council members would be really really awesome if you guys will come out and try to make a
statement upon that and try to push our legislatures in Austin to increase the basic lotment. Thank you. Thank you. All right, thank you. Mayor? Yes. I'm sorry, I I I did not get the second
