Have the opportunity to speak to the Lewisville ISD board last Monday

It was good to have the opportunity to speak to the Lewisville ISD board last Monday. They are in a situation where due to lack of attendance-rates and an underfunded Basic-Allotment, they voted to shutdown 5 Elementary Schools. I wanted to go more into the Bluebonnet Crriculum being pushed the the SBoE, but I could tell the packed room was more emotional about the School closures. I look forward to asking about the board's stance on Bluebonnet VS seperation-of-Church-&-State next time.

Hello, my name is Dale Frey. I'm a Louisville ISD resident, and I want to come up here to express two concerns of mine. One, of course, I'll keep it short because I probably sound like a broken record. I'm concerned about the schools closing in our area. I will say that I understand this board is being put into a very tough spot.

I thank the board for uh giving the presentation about the basic allotment. However, it's very clear to me the basic allotment is still not what it should be. I will not compare this campus to other campuses, as I know that's not allowed, but I will say that the closing of public school buildings is not unique to Louisville ISD.

However, blaming the uh attendance rates alone is. So I'm very concerned. I understand that you're put in a tough spot, but I think we all need to be vigilant and continue to contact our representatives and ask them to increase the wada because it's it's not what it should be when we're closing down our school buildings. Uh aside from that, uh separate subject, it might be

more of a future uh concern. Uh it's a question that I have, though I don't expect an answer as I know that's not the way things work, but I am curious and I want to express my curiosity upon whether or not this board is considering the blue bonnet curriculum that is being pushed by our state board of education. I'd be curious about the board's concerns about that or

if it's even being considered at all. And I look forward to uh any uh announcements that you can make on that. Thank you.
