Have the opportunity to speak at the Frisco Lakes Candidate Fourm the other week

It was good to have the opportunity to speak at the Frisco Lakes Candidate Fourm the other week. 😀 On here I am giving my position on State funds going to the Boarder 🤔 I was hoping to be on stage with my opponent, Brent, but he didn't show up. Maybe the drive was too far for the non-viable candidate who dosnt live in the district 🤷‍♂️ Yet again crossed paths with Jared Patterson, though. 💪 The full raw video of the Fourm is on YouTub at; https://youtu.be/KbHRKRc5b28 #txlege

Very good. And your last question. Should state funds be used for border management? Okay. I expected this to come up. It's Texas, right? But um, so far that's being done right now through Operation Lone Star.

If you look at the history upon where that funding came from, funding for Operation Lone Star came right around the same time we severely started splashing um money for our uh our mental uh mental health care and for our our public schools. So it's it's one of those things where I understand the concern, but you have to understand that this is a congressional issue.

I understand that, like I said earlier, we are the eighth largest economy in the world, we are, but that still does not compare to the rest of the entirety of the United States of America. We do have a border problem. My mother works for CBB. I I I do see the issue, but the way we fix this is having our congressional members fund our

border patrol. That did not happen recently, by the way. Donald Trump came out and he asked a bipartisan bill that would have funded our CDP, our customs and border patrol. These politicians in Congress are playing games. The Republicans at the congressional level, they don't want to actually fix these problems.

They just want something to complain about because that's what gets them votes. So if you really want to fix our border crisis, you better be talking to your your congressmen. All right. They're the ones who have more money than tax systems, and they're all the ones together who really need to come together to fix this problem.

Aside from that, I don't want to demonize anyone of Hispanic uh resemblance or say that we're being invaded. I strongly stand against that kind of rhetoric. Especially the my my extended family are Hispanics. My sister-in-law, for example, is from Honduras. Now she came here, she has a couple of kids here. She came here through the natural process.

But I know the more and more that we talk about saying that all these people who don't look like me are invading this area, that hurts people like my sister-in-law. And that's not fair to them. So I believe that we should pay attention to the border issue I also believe we should be humane about it.

Thank you.
