When you talk about school choice and more importantly when you talk about privatizing our education system, understand that not everyone actually truly has full choice. Not everyone. The disabled kids don't. Here's a direct example of someone calling a school choice advocate out on C SPAN. So we started this charter school.
We took every student in Aiken County and our Edchill County that got kicked out of their high schools. Just because you say school choice doesn't mean your child's gonna get into that charter school or magnet school. It depends on the board of directors and what they want. They want that public money for the first two or three years, but then after that, now there's a lottery
system for this high school. They pick and choose now who comes to that school now. If you're a good athlete from another school, you get in trouble. So bingo, you're gonna get in.
